Tell me about it Paul. Gonna have a go at laying bricks now lol.

I have so much D.I.Y to do before new baby comes along.

The following rooms are just plastered
- Bathroom
- Shower room
- 2x Bedrooms
- Upstairs hallway
- Porch
- New lounge
- Down stairs toilet
- Utility room
- Garage

Plus I have concrete foundations to lay before building the walls

I need 2 boat trips before xmas.

Well run down.......over all a day full of incidents......first off allllll good round to harrys rock then hobitap999 had a very minor engine glitch but sorted. Then i had another engine issue........it ran like a dream at rev but flooded upon idle and the primer bulb never went solid...... so me and paul head into the beach to adjust fuel mixture and took a few breakers over the bow.........the sea was flat calm, then when we head in random waves and breakers.......go figure...

So adjusted that and all ok but called the engine guy and getting a new carb and jets fitted under warranty.

So with engine woes in the forefront we decided to stay local.......

Now tye big 1 and this is the rub......az flies his drone to do some ariel shots only to loose signal and his dji phantom3 lands in the sea out of sight and is now at the bottom of the ocean.......

On a plus mitch got some fish.........if thats a plus and axheived 19knots over his max of 12 previously. Hobbitap got out and tested his boat, i got to thrash it all day after an embarasing tow which yes paul filmed as if i stopped it flooded altho better in the afternoon...
Paul was repayed for his caring assistance with 3 big waves over his bow and a boat full of water and poor az gad the most expensive trip on a sib ever!!!!!

Great day........
Still we got out and had a bit of a cravk and we had great sea conditions and sunshine... yayyyyyhhh

Matt,
when you bought your engine i remember you saying that it was being upgraded from 9.9 to 15hp.
I've some personal experience in this procedure.
To make the conversion work you need to change the exhaust plate and tube as well as the carb.
In the past this is exactly what i have done, but this involves removing the mid section from the powerhead.
Last year whilst doing up the silver 9.9hp mariner/merc I got my hands on a 15hp carb after i had reassembled the engine.
I decided to stick it on the engine anyway as I'd always questioned in my head if it was really necessary to change the exhaust tube???

Well my findings are Yes it is necessary. I experienced the exact same problems that you are having.
So i think the question i'm asking is did the engine have the full upgrade or just a carb swap?
