2018 Tohatsu 20 efi First outing - re-run!

Well, the weather smiled on us today! Light offshore wind, 4ft gentle swell and a light chop
On the water at 11:05. 2 up + 20ltr fuel and the usual anchor and other gubbins. On the plane at just 1/4 throttle and nipping along very well at 1/3 amazing ride when you take the transom wheels off!!, cleared the estuary and up to 1/2 until we passed 2 hrs running time, up to 3/4 throttle and had to throttle back to 1/2 until we reached the lee of the shore. A couple of bursts at wot were impressive! on a flat calm this is going to be really quick
Trim is perfect on 2nd hole out, no rooster tail, no cavitation/ventilation. great throttle response and stays on the plane below 1/4 throttle. Beached at 12:45 and used just 6ltr of fuel.
I think it would be fair to say that this motor is a perfect match for the F-Rib 360: Short shaft length is spot on, Prop is a good match and certainly sounded like it was reaching the right rpm band (will try and remember to put a Tiny tach on next time out)
Anyway I think Dobro will have just managed to remove the smile off his face by now, I think he was happier that me!
We headed South to Auchmithie where we broke out the coffee flask, but quaffed that rapidly to get back out again.
A very happy chappie with my choice of outboard - I'm sure the Suzuki would have been every bit as good - I just like Tohatsu's and so far have not been let down.
Sorry no pics - we both forgot our cams and my mobile was snugged up in the drybag.
